Mini Mobile Robots

by Fabian Kung (Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University)

In this project I will showcase a number of mini mobile robots. These are interesting and delightful machines capable of autonomous movements and navigation, though each machine also has the capability to be controlled and monitored from a computer or other smart devices via radio wave link. All the robots are built from scratch, from the on-board computer, sensors, mechanical hardware, to the control and communication software. Modern fabrication methods such as 3D-printing, CNC (computer numerical control) milling are used extensively to fabricate the mechanical platform. A group photo of the robots are shown below. A mineral water bottle is placed beside the robots to give you a sense of the size of the machines.
